Shiba-Sakura Festival

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend and ready for this week.

Cherry Blossom (Sakura) in Tokyo was beautiful...now it's our turn to enjoy all spring flowers around Mt. Fuji.

Different kind of Sakura is very attractive as well. It's called Shiba Sakura and the English name for this is Phlox subulata.  There is a Phlox subulata Festival very close from our Inn.

The event is called "Fuji Shiba Sakura Matsuri"
Check out the event website for more information. According to their website, the admission is free until April 20, 2010 due to the flower blooming condition.

The photo was taken last year at the festival and there will be more Phlox subulata this year and even much more beautiful for sure!

If you get a chance to visit Yamanashi Pref., this is the one of the spots you do not want to miss!
